Columns show Freeman’s Democratic leanings

Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - OPINION -

Dear Editor: Perusing your Nov. 10 Opinion page, I concluded you are unconcerned about the feelings of non-Democratic readers.

Dana Milbank characterizes Trump’s voters, half the voting population, as xenophobic, angry, older, white men. Ruth Marcus warns us Trump’s election may anger Jehovah. Her concern for supposed assaults on free institutions overlooks universities’ expulsion of Republicans and political lopsidedness due to transforming universities into centers of Democratic propaganda.

Forty-two percent of women voted for Trump while 53 percent of men did; 37 percent of young voters favored Trump while 45 percent of voters over 65 opposed Trump, according to the Pew Research Center.

The left’s commitment to the politics of victimization overlooks that the Democrats’ intolerant, prejudiced policies have victimized large groups of people, many of whom supported Trump. Mitchell Langbert, Ph.D.
