Amid White House chat­ter, Cuomo sees only N.Y. race

New York Gov. An­drew Cuomo only sees a re-elec­tion bid in his fu­ture amid sug­ges­tions he could be a pos­si­ble White House can­di­date in 2020.

Cuomo told re­porters Tues­day he is fo­cused on his cur­rent job and still plans to run for a third term in 2018.

Cuomo is one of sev­eral prom­i­nent Democrats whose names have ap­peared on lists of pos­si­ble pres­i­den­tial con­tenders.

Re-elected in 2014, he has al­ready be­gun rais­ing money for an­other race for gover­nor in two years.

Cuomo has said he has “grave” dis­agree­ments with Repub­li­can Pres­i­dent-elect Don­ald Trump but has vowed to work with the fel­low New Yorker on is­sues af­fect­ing the state.

Cuomo was Sec­re­tary of Hous­ing and Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment un­der Pres­i­dent Bill Clin­ton.
