Amid White House chatter, Cuomo sees only N.Y. race
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo only sees a re-election bid in his future amid suggestions he could be a possible White House candidate in 2020.
Cuomo told reporters Tuesday he is focused on his current job and still plans to run for a third term in 2018.
Cuomo is one of several prominent Democrats whose names have appeared on lists of possible presidential contenders.
Re-elected in 2014, he has already begun raising money for another race for governor in two years.
Cuomo has said he has “grave” disagreements with Republican President-elect Donald Trump but has vowed to work with the fellow New Yorker on issues affecting the state.
Cuomo was Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton.
