Train­ing helps fam­i­lies pre­pare for dis­as­ter

The Dutchess County Depart­ment of Emer­gency Re­sponse will host its next Cit­i­zen’s Pre­pared­ness Train­ing Pro­gram ses­sion from 7 to 9 p.m. Mon­day, Nov. 21, at the Board­man Road Branch Li­brary, 141 Board­man Road.

The two-hour train­ing ses­sion aims to pro­vide par­tic­i­pants with the tools and re­sources to bet­ter pre­pare for any type of dis­as­ter. The train­ing, be­ing pro­vided by the Dutchess County De­part­ments of Emer­gency Re­sponse and Be­hav­ioral and Com­mu­nity Health, is open to the public and ad­mis­sion is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Each fam­ily will re­ceive a free Cit­i­zen Pre­pared­ness Corps Re­sponse Starter Kit.

Dutchess County’s Med­i­cal Re­serve Corps and the Dutchess County An­i­mal Re­sponse Team will be part of the train­ing.

This train­ing is part of the county Depart­ment of Emer­gency Re­sponse’s cit­i­zen pre­pared­ness train­ing ini­tia­tive.
