State semi­fi­nals this week­end at Di­etz Sta­dium

Di­etz Sta­dium will be the host site this week­end for the New York State Public High School Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion’s East Re­gion foot­ball semi­fi­nals.

There will be five games in this fi­nal step on the road to the state cham­pi­onships next week­end at the Syra­cuse Car­rier Dome.

There are two games to­day and three on Satur­day.

Hal­dane will take on Cam­bridge in a Class D con­test 4 p.m. to­day. That will be fol­lowed at 8 with Burnt Hills against Somers in a Class A matchup.

On Satur­day, John S. Burke Catholic — Sec­tion 9’s only surviving team — plays Og­dens­burg in Class C at 11 a.m. Pleas­antville, which elim­i­nated New Paltz last week, takes on Glens Falls in a Class B semi at 3 p.m. Troy faces New Rochelle in a Class AA meet­ing at 7.

Ad­mis­sion is $10 for stu­dents and adults. Pre-school stu­dents are ad­mit­ted free. Only State Passes will be hon­ored.
