Chil­dren’s pro­gram on Ben Franklin at li­brary

The Trav­el­ling Lantern Theatre Com­pany will per­form “The In­dus­tri­ous Mr. Franklin: Light­ning, Wit and States­man­ship” on Satur­day, Nov. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Kingston Li­brary, 55 Franklin St., Kingston.

The event is part of the li­brary’s Su­per Satur­days Per­for­mance Se­ries.

Young­sters will meet the in­trepid in­ven­tor, quip­ping author, pro­duc­tive sci­en­tist and found­ing fa­ther Ben­jamin Franklin. They will travel with him, meet his friends, help him in his work and learn all about the coura­geous and dili­gent man who tamed elec­tric­ity with a kite and a key.

This new play is a fas­ci­nat­ing and hu­mor­ous romp with one of Amer­ica’s most en­dear­ing his­tor­i­cal char­ac­ters. Ad­mis­sion is free. Call the li­brary at (845) 331-0507, ext. 7, for more in­for­ma­tion.
