All-star game will fea­ture lo­cal se­niors

Twenty-three play­ers from lo­cal schools will com­pete in Sun­day’s con­test in New­burgh

Twenty-three vet­eran area high school play­ers will par­tic­i­pate Sun­day in the an­nual Sec­tion 9 Se­nior All-Star Foot­ball game.

The con­test be­tween an Amer­i­can ver­sus Na­tional team at New­burgh Free Acad­emy kicks off at 1 p.m.

There are 15 lo­cal play­ers on the Amer­i­can squad from seven schools.

There are four each from New Paltz (run­ning back An­thony Nit­tolo, re­ceiver Joe DiMarco, de­fen­sive line­man Guy Soumah and de­fen­sive back Hunter McVea) and Sauger­ties (run­ning backs Jimmy Ball and Rob Trin­cellito, de­fen­sive line­man Gar­rett Quinn and de­fen­sive back Rory Co­han), plus three from Red Hook (quar­ter­back Nick Mor­ris­sey, re­ceiver Eric Decker and tight end Con­nor Red­mond). Also rep­re­sented are play­ers from Kingston (line­backer Bran­don Al­bert­son), El­lenville (run­ning An­thony DiMarco), High­land (tight end Frank Al­fonso) and Roo­sevelt (of­fen­sive line­man Neil Tomp­kins).

On the Na­tional team are four play­ers from Marl­boro (of­fen­sive line­man Chase Sweetser and Tris­tan Ceriello, de­fen­sive end Joe Parker and line­backer Zach Atkins) plus two each from Wal­lkill (quar­ter­back A.J. Dem­broski and of­fen­sive line­man Mike Cap­puc­cilli) and Pine Plains (run­ning back Hunter Parks and de­fen­sive end Tim Lutz).


Sauger­ties’ Jimmy Ball will play for the Amer­i­can squad. Three other Sawyers are also on the team.

New Paltz re­ceiver Joe DiMarco will be among four Huguenots play­ing for the Amer­i­can squad.
