All-star game will feature local seniors
Twenty-three players from local schools will compete in Sunday’s contest in Newburgh
Twenty-three veteran area high school players will participate Sunday in the annual Section 9 Senior All-Star Football game.
The contest between an American versus National team at Newburgh Free Academy kicks off at 1 p.m.
There are 15 local players on the American squad from seven schools.
There are four each from New Paltz (running back Anthony Nittolo, receiver Joe DiMarco, defensive lineman Guy Soumah and defensive back Hunter McVea) and Saugerties (running backs Jimmy Ball and Rob Trincellito, defensive lineman Garrett Quinn and defensive back Rory Cohan), plus three from Red Hook (quarterback Nick Morrissey, receiver Eric Decker and tight end Connor Redmond). Also represented are players from Kingston (linebacker Brandon Albertson), Ellenville (running Anthony DiMarco), Highland (tight end Frank Alfonso) and Roosevelt (offensive lineman Neil Tompkins).
On the National team are four players from Marlboro (offensive lineman Chase Sweetser and Tristan Ceriello, defensive end Joe Parker and linebacker Zach Atkins) plus two each from Wallkill (quarterback A.J. Dembroski and offensive lineman Mike Cappuccilli) and Pine Plains (running back Hunter Parks and defensive end Tim Lutz).
Saugerties’ Jimmy Ball will play for the American squad. Three other Sawyers are also on the team.
New Paltz receiver Joe DiMarco will be among four Huguenots playing for the American squad.
