Tree light­ing planned Dec. 2 at Deyo House

His­toric Huguenot Street will host its third an­nual Com­mu­nity Tree Light­ing on Fri­day, Dec. 2.

The tree, do­nated by Deyo de­scen­dants and com­mu­nity mem­bers, is planted on the front lawn of the his­toric Deyo House.

At 6:45 p.m., the com­mu­nity will par­tic­i­pate in a Paper Lantern Light Pa­rade, be­gin­ning at the Re­formed Church and pro­ceed­ing to the Deyo House lawn for the tree light­ing. Lu­mi­nar­ies will line the street and paper lanterns will be avail­able for pur­chase at the Mu­seum Shop.

The tree will be lit at 7 p.m. by Vil­lage of New Paltz Mayor Tim Rogers and Ul­ster County Ex­ec­u­tive Michael Hein.

Fol­low­ing the tree light­ing cer­e­mony, guests can take free pho­tos with Santa on the Deyo House porch. Be­fore and af­ter the tree light­ing, peo­ple can visit the DuBois Fort Vis­i­tor Cen­ter and Mu­seum Shop for hol­i­day shop­ping and sweets.
