Mount Acad­emy boys, FDR’s Trainor to run in Fed­er­a­tion meet

The Mount Acad­emy boys team and Roo­sevelt High’s Sarah Trainor will be run­ning in Saturday’s state Fed­er­a­tion cross coun­try cham­pi­onship race at Bow­doin Park.

The Mount team fea­tures se­niors Daryl Blough, Bernard King, Kent Kurtz, Justin Compy, Bren­dan Baird, Jamie Kei­der­ling and Adam King. The Ea­gles placed sec­ond in Class C last week at the New York State Pub­lic High School Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion meet.

Trainor, a fresh­man, was 53rd in the state Class A race. She won the Mid-Hud­son Ath­letic League cham­pi­onship and placed third in Sec­tion 9.

The girls race starts at 12:15 p.m., fol­lowed by the boys at 1. There are 288 run­ners in the girls race and 300 com­pet­ing in the boys.
