Three face felony charges in probe into cocaine sales
HIGHLAND >> Three Highland residents are facing felony charges after an investigation by Lloyd town police and the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team into narcotics sales in the Highland area, authorities said Saturday.
Authorities said purchases of cocaine had been made by undercover officers from Dominick F. Fanelli, 18, and Travis J. Cuvelier, 19, both of Highland. Friday afternoon, Cuvelier and Nyomi C. Miller, 17, of Highland, were arrested by town police and members of URGENT in the parking lot of a Highland supermarket, where authorities said they had come to sell cocaine to an undercover officer. About four grams of cocaine were recovered from Cuvelier’s vehicle. Fanelli was later arrested at his home.
Fanelli and Cuvelier were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, conspiracy and attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, all felonies. Miller was also charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy.
All three were arraigned in Lloyd Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail, Cuvelier in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $75,000 secured bond, Fanelli in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 secured bond and Miller in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
