Three face felony charges in probe into co­caine sales

HIGH­LAND >> Three High­land res­i­dents are fac­ing felony charges af­ter an in­ves­ti­ga­tion by Lloyd town po­lice and the Ul­ster Re­gional Gang En­force­ment Nar­cotics Team into nar­cotics sales in the High­land area, au­thor­i­ties said Satur­day.

Au­thor­i­ties said pur­chases of co­caine had been made by un­der­cover of­fi­cers from Do­minick F. Fanelli, 18, and Travis J. Cu­ve­lier, 19, both of High­land. Fri­day af­ter­noon, Cu­ve­lier and Ny­omi C. Miller, 17, of High­land, were ar­rested by town po­lice and mem­bers of UR­GENT in the park­ing lot of a High­land su­per­mar­ket, where au­thor­i­ties said they had come to sell co­caine to an un­der­cover of­fi­cer. About four grams of co­caine were re­cov­ered from Cu­ve­lier’s ve­hi­cle. Fanelli was later ar­rested at his home.

Fanelli and Cu­ve­lier were charged with crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance, crim­i­nal sale of a con­trolled sub­stance, con­spir­acy and at­tempted crim­i­nal sale of a con­trolled sub­stance, all felonies. Miller was also charged with felony counts of crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance and con­spir­acy.

All three were ar­raigned in Lloyd Town Court and sent to the Ul­ster County Jail, Cu­ve­lier in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $75,000 se­cured bond, Fanelli in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 se­cured bond and Miller in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 se­cured bond. All three are ex­pected to reap­pear in town court at a later date.
