KeyBank Foundation awarded a $3,500grant to the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston for its “Hudson River Stewards” program.
The program was developed two years ago as an experiential educational program for Hudson Valley fourthgraders. The grant will enable underfunded groups to participate in the program. The museum developed the program two years ago to give fourthgraders of all backgrounds in the region a shared educational experience connecting them to history and the Hudson River. Last May, the museum completed its second successful “Hudson River Stewards” program, which served nearly 800 fourth
graders in four school districts: Kingston, Saugerties, Livingston Manor school district and three classes from Hyde Park.
