KeyBank Foun­da­tion awarded a $3,500grant to the Hud­son River Mar­itime Museum in Kingston for its “Hud­son River Stew­ards” pro­gram.

The pro­gram was de­vel­oped two years ago as an ex­pe­ri­en­tial ed­u­ca­tional pro­gram for Hud­son Val­ley fourth­graders. The grant will en­able un­der­funded groups to par­tic­i­pate in the pro­gram. The museum de­vel­oped the pro­gram two years ago to give fourth­graders of all back­grounds in the re­gion a shared ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ence con­nect­ing them to his­tory and the Hud­son River. Last May, the museum com­pleted its sec­ond suc­cess­ful “Hud­son River Stew­ards” pro­gram, which served nearly 800 fourth

graders in four school dis­tricts: Kingston, Sauger­ties, Liv­ingston Manor school district and three classes from Hyde Park.

••• The Cox­sackie-Athens Ro­tary do­nated $150 to the Athens Cul­tural Cen­ter in sup­port of the 2016 Athens Vic­to­rian Stroll.

Ro­tary Pres­i­dent Ed Bloomer pre­sented the do­na­tion to Dick Churchill, choir mas­ter of the Vic­to­rian Voices. The Vic­to­rian Voices will be carol­ing through­out the Stroll on Satur­day, Dec. 10.

The free fam­ily-friendly event starts at 1 p.m. with sched­ules and maps avail­able at the Athens Cul­tural Cen­ter, 24 Sec­ond St.
