The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
City of Kingston
• Weapons: Juan T. Diaz, 32, of 58 Fair St. Kingston, was arrested by Kingston Police near the intersection of Broadway and Elemendorf Street at 11:52 p.m. Saturday on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, a felony; menacing, a misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a violation. Police said they came upon a dispute and discovered that Diaz had shown a switchblade knife during the altercation with another person who was not identified. Diaz was being held at the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail pending a court appearance.
• DWI: Christopher M. Leffelman, 36, of Mount Tremper, was arrested by Thruway state police on the New York State Thruway at 12:24 a.m. Sunday and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (one ounce or more of cannabis) and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (alcohol), both felonies, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08 percent, a misdemenear. Leffelman was held pending a court appear- ance.
• Unlawful imprisonment: Scott M. Hayes, 41, of Boiceville, was arrested by state police at Ulster on Deerfield Road at 9:22p.m. Saturday on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful imprison- ment. Hayes was released with tickets for Olive Town Court. Further information was unavailable.
Town of Ulster
• Weapons: Nahjayyah Y. Daise, 19 of Albany, was arrested by Thruway state police on the New York state Thruway southbound at 11:03 a.m. Saturday on a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a weapon. She was also issued traffic tickets for a license plate violation and speeding. Daise was released pending an appearance in Ulster Town Court.
