Program examines woodlands, wetlands
A free seminar, “Woodlands and Wetlands: What Communities Need to Know,” will take place Monday, Dec. 5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Marbletown Community Center, 3564 Main St.
Those attending can learn about forests and wetlands, strategies for land use and stewardship planning, and examples of how local municipalities are conserving these resources for future generations, including several initiatives under way in Rondout Valley communities. Light refreshments will be served.
Leading the discussion will be Laura Heady of the state Department of Environmental Conservation’s Hudson River Estuary Program, and Marilyn Wyman of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties.
