Daily Freeman (Kingston, NY) - - COMMUNITY -

Every three months, the United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region opens its doors to area nonprofits as part of its Day of Sharing Program. The next session will be Friday, Dec. 2 at the Poughkeepsie office, 75 Market St.

Each Day of Sharing aims to help local nonprofits meet their clients’ basic needs through donations of new goods, including clothing, bedding, kitchen and household items. These donations are provided by businesses, including Calvin Klein, Bed Bath & Beyond, Izod, and Van Heusen. Last year, almost $100,000 worth of donated goods was distributed through the Day of Sharing.

The event is open to nonprofit organizations, schools, and churches in Dutchess or Orange counties. Doors open at 10 a.m. and close at noon. For more information, call Kimberly Kochem at (845) 471-1900, ext. 3122, or email kkochem@uw dor.org.
