WHAT: Workshop on making oil cloths WHEN: Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
WHERE: Wagon House Education Center at Olana State Historic Site, 5720 state Route 9G, Hudson
DETAILS: The program is designed to teach participants how to make an oil cloth. The use of oil cloth as painted decorative floor and furniture coverings began in the early 18th century. They were used to decorate doorways, halls, dining rooms and as a decorative protection for furniture. The cost is $25, $20 for members. All supplies and tea and cake are included. No experience necessary. Preregistration is encouraged. Walk-in are welcome, but not guaranteed.
