Te­le­sia Kotzias, 98, of North Bellmore

Te­le­sia Kotzias of North Bellmore, for­merly of Kingston, died Satur­day, Nov. 19, 2016, at Holy Cross Hos­pi­tal in Fort Laud­erdale, Fla., with fam­ily by her side. She was 98.

Te­le­sia, along with her hus­band Ge­orge A. Kotzias, were the own­ers and op­er­a­tors of the Gold Star Restau­rant in up­town Kingston. She was a found­ing parish­ioner of St. Ge­orge Greek Ortho­dox Church in Kingston and she en­joyed trav­el­ing to Greece and Florida. Most of all, she en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily.

She was born in Ne­wark, N.J., and was a daugh­ter of the late Evan­ge­los and Kon­stantina Vozikas Matthews.

Te­le­sia is sur­vived by her two chil­dren, Athana­sios “Tom” Kotzias and his wife Adaman­tia “Diane” of Kingston, Con­stance Foun­tas and her hus­band Dino of North Bellmore; two grand­chil­dren, Ge­orge A. Kotzias and Chrysan­the T. Cho­lakis and her hus­band Christo­pher; one great-grand­son, Thano Cho­lakis; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Te­le­sia was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band of 59 years, Ge­orge, and by her three sib­lings, Saran­tos “Sam” Matthews, Eleni Sourlis and Dr. Zachary Matthews.

Te­le­sia will be repos­ing at the Simpson-Gaus Fu­neral Home, 411 Albany Av­enue, on Fri­day from 4 to 8 p.m. A Tris­a­gion Ser­vice will take place at 7:30 p.m. Fr. Michael Kouremetis of St. Ge­orge Greek Ortho­dox Church will be of­fi­ci­at­ing.

The fu­neral pro­ces­sion will form from the fu­neral home on Satur­day at 10 a.m.

The Fu­neral Ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Ge­orge Greek Ortho­dox Church, Kingston.

Burial will be in Mon­tre­pose Ceme­tery, Kingston.

The fam­ily re­quests that memo­rial do­na­tions be made to St. Ge­orge Greek Ortho­dox Church, 294 Greenkill Av­enue, Kingston, N.Y., 12401.
