Adam McKay to direct Dick Cheney film for Paramount
NEW YORK >> Adam McKay will write and direct a film about Dick Cheney for Paramount Pictures.
A representative for Paramount confirmed Tuesday that McKay has written a script about the former vice president and hopes to begin shooting this spring. The project was first reported by Deadline.
The untitled film will be produced by McKay and his Gary Sanchez partners, Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick, along with Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. The same team backed McKay’s Oscar-winning Michael Lewis adaption “The Big Short.”
McKay and Ferrell previously collaborated on a Broadway show about Cheney’s commander in chief in “You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush.” McKay’s Cheney film, though, takes a more dramatic approach to a central figure from the Bush administration.
Emma Stone once jealous of Jennifer Lawrence’s success
Emma Stone says she was jealous of fellow star Jennifer Lawrence’s early success before the two became friends.
Stone tells Vanity Fair for a cover story on Lawrence that she thought Lawrence was “so great and vibrant and talented” that she would have a negative impact on Stone’s career.
Stone says she soon remembered she and Lawrence are “completely different and there is room for everyone, even if it’s an industry that doesn’t really seem to support that idea up front.”
Now, she says she and Lawrence “really do love each other and care about each other as people.” She says she knows they’d be friends, even if they didn’t have the same job.
Naya Rivera files for divorce from husband of 2 years
LOS ANGELES >> Actress Naya Rivera has filed for divorce from actor Ryan Dorsey, her husband of two years.
Rivera, who starred on the Fox musical series “Glee,” cited irreconcilable differences for their breakup.
Rivera filed for divorce Nov. 15 in Los Angeles Superior Court and it was first reported Monday by celebrity website TMZ.
She is seeking sole custody of their one-year-old son.
Her filing states the pair’s assets will be divided by an agreement they signed after marrying in July 2014.
Rivera wrote about her relationship with Dorsey in her book “Sorry Not Sorry” that was released earlier this year.
After her first relationship with Dorsey ended, she began dating rapper Big Sean before they endured a very public breakup.
A few months later, the 29-yearold actress married Dorsey.
Naya Rivera, then pregnant with her now-toddler son Josey, arrives at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington in April 2015.
