Hawks fall to 0-4 to start sea­son

MIDDLEBURY, VT. >> SUNY New Paltz re­mained win­less to start its men’s bas­ket­ball sea­son, as the Hawks fell to un­de­feated Middlebury 94-62 in a non-con­fer­ence con­test.

The (0-4 over­all) Hawks started slowly, fall­ing be­hind 14-2 be­fore clos­ing the deficit to sin­gle dig­its (17-8). The Pan­thers, how­ever, re­sponded with a 20-0 run later in the half to take con­trol, 56-22, by half­time.

Dy­lan Bal­ducci led the Hawks with 12 points off the bench, with Nick Arthur adding 10. High­land High grad­u­ate Cory Gar­cia, mean­while, dished out a team-high three as­sists.

Matt St. Ar­mour led four Pan­thers in dou­ble fig­ures with 27 points.

New Paltz trav­els to play Spring­field, Mass. on Tues­day.
