Ex­hibit will fea­ture na­tional parks pho­tos

A photo ex­hibit cel­e­brat­ing the 100th an­niver­sary of Amer­i­can’s na­tional parks is sched­uled for 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Mau­rice D. Hinchey Catskill In­ter­pre­tive Cen­ter, 5096 Route 28.

The jour­ney be­gins in Aca­dia Na­tional Park, then heads west, with pho­tos of an­i­mals, birds and flow­ers set in moun­tain set­tings in the South­west, North­west and West. Pho­tos are from Alan Via’s many trips and from some of his pho­tog­ra­pher friends.

Via is the au­thor of “The Catskill 67 — A Hiker’s Guide to the Catskill 100 High­est Peaks Un­der 3,500 Feet” and a con­trib­u­tor to The Wa­ter­shed Post, Adiron­dack Sports and Fit­ness, Adiron­dack mag­a­zine and other publi­ca­tions.

Via is one of only a hand­ful of hik­ers to have com­pleted both the Catskill and Adiron­dack 100 high­est peaks.

The in­ter­pre­tive cen­ter is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily; and un­til 6:30 p.m. on Fri­days.
