Cler­mont site to kick off Christ­mas sea­son

The Cler­mont State His­toric Site’s Christ­mas sea­son be­gins Dec. 3 and 4 with “A Child’s Christ­mas at Cler­mont.”

Fam­i­lies can drop in with chil­dren from 10 a.m. to noon for a stock­ing-foot tour of the dec­o­ra­tions and a story with the fam­ily’s nurse­maid at the foot of the Christ­mas tree in the oak-pan­eled li­brary.

Each child will re­ceive candy in their shoes from Santa Claus and a Christ­mas gift.

Hot cider, cook­ies and fruit will be served in the kitchen.

Tick­ets are $4 per per­son. No reser­va­tions are nec­es­sary.

For those with­out chil­dren, the gen­eral pub­lic can tour the man­sion from noon to 3 p.m.

Also, reser­va­tions are be­ing ac­cepted for the mu­seum’s can­dle­light evening tours from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 11. Call (518) 537-4240 dur­ing busi­ness hours for tick­ets or more in­for­ma­tion.
