Marjorie M. Chase, 78, of the town of Ulster
Marjorie M. Chase, 78, of Lawrenceville Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at her home. Born Sept. 4, 1938, in Albany, she was raised by George and Alice Bowers in Gardiner, N.Y.
A graduate of New Paltz High School, Marjorie worked for IBM, the Millbrook Bread Store in Kingston and Ulster Savings Bank, from which she retired in 2005. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, her flower garden, and watching baseball on television, especially the New York Yankees. Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Cynthia Chase; her grandson, Jared Chase, all of the Town of Kingston; and her feline companion, Gizmo.
Her husband of 47 years, John W. Chase, died in 2003.
Cremation and memorial arrangements are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside inurnment service will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
