Mar­jorie M. Chase, 78, of Lawrenceville Street, died Wed­nes­day, Nov. 16, 2016, at her home. Born Sept. 4, 1938, in Al­bany, she was raised by Ge­orge and Alice Bow­ers in Gardiner, N.Y.

A grad­u­ate of New Paltz High School, Mar­jorie worked for IBM, the Mill­brook Bread Store in Kingston and Ul­ster Sav­ings Bank, from which she retired in 2005. She en­joyed jig­saw puz­zles, her flower gar­den, and watch­ing base­ball on tele­vi­sion, espe­cially the New York Yan­kees. Mar­jorie is sur­vived by her son and daugh­ter-in-law, Ti­mothy and Cyn­thia Chase; her grand­son, Jared Chase, all of the Town of Kingston; and her fe­line com­pan­ion, Gizmo.

Her hus­band of 47 years, John W. Chase, died in 2003.

Cre­ma­tion and me­mo­rial ar­range­ments are un­der the guid­ance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). Me­mo­rial vis­i­ta­tion will be held Satur­day, Nov. 26, 2016, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A grave­side inurn­ment ser­vice will fol­low in Mon­tre­pose Ceme­tery.
