Group seeks do­na­tions to aid refugee school

The Mid-Hudson Val­ley chap­ter of the United Na­tions As­so­ci­a­tion of the United States is adopt­ing the Cen­tral School in Dadaab refugee camp, Kenya, as part of the Adopt-A- Fu­ture cam­paign, which sup­ports refugee ed­u­ca­tion world­wide in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the United Na­tions High Com­mis­sioner for Refugees.

The Mid-Hudson Val­ley chap­ter has set a fundrais­ing goal of $30,000 to help build class­rooms and pur­chase school sup­plies for the Cen­tral School, which serves 2,164 stu­dents ages 6-13 who have been forced to flee their homes in the midst of con­flict.

All funds raised will re­ceive a 100 per­cent match from the Ed­u­cate A Child Fund of Her High­ness Sheikha Moza bint Nas­sar of Qatar and other phil­an­thropic part­ners.
