Joan M. Hines, 88, of South­hamp­ton

Joan M. Hines, 88, of County Road 39, died Fri­day, Nov. 25, 2016, at Southamp­ton Hospi­tal.

She was born in Brook­lyn, Jan. 1, 1928, a daugh­ter of the late Jerome and Mar­garet White Brett.

A res­i­dent of Southamp­ton for the past 21 years, Joan had pre­vi­ously been a res­i­dent of Rosendale since 1973 and a fre­quent vis­i­tor be­fore that. Prior to per­ma­nently liv­ing in Rosendale, she had been a res­i­dent of Brook­lyn. Joan had been the man­ager for the 5th Ave. Card Shop in Kingston be­fore her re­tire­ment. Her hus­band, Ray­mond T. Hines, died in 1972.

She is survived by a daugh­ter, Kathy Lieb of Bridge­hamp­ton, L.I.; a son, Ray­mond Hines of Rosendale; and a sis­ter, Claire Palmer of Penn­syl­va­nia. She is also survived by two grand­chil­dren, Gar­rett Lieb and Brett Lieb, both of New York City.

Her fu­neral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tues­day from George J. Moy­lan Fu­neral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, Rosendale. The Rev. Ed­mund Burke will of­fi­ci­ate. In­ter­ment will fol­low at St. Peter’s Ceme­tery, Rosendale.
