SAUGERTIES >> A 22-yearold Saugerties man faces felony counts of criminal contempt and a pair of misdemeanor charges after he got into a fight with his father on Friday, Saugerties Police said.
Police responded to a report of a fight between two men at a home at 884 state Route 212. They later identified the two as Dell DeAngelis Sr. and Dell DeAngelis Jr.
Authorities said the son had assaulted his father during an incident earlier that day, violating a “no harass” order of protection that was in place between the two.
DeAngelis Jr. was arrested and charged with two felony counts of criminal contempt of a court order and misdemeanor assault.
He was also charged with obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor, after he physically restrained officers from obtaining his fingerprints at police headquarters, authorities said.
DeAngelis Jr. was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The order of protection was also updated to a full “stay away” order of protection on behalf of the father, police said.
