Ex­ten­sion educator will dis­cuss live­stock

KINGSTON >> Ja­son Det­zel, a live­stock educator with Cor­nell Co­op­er­a­tive Ex­ten­sion of Ul­ster County, will speak at its an­nual meet­ing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the ex­ten­sion of­fice at Kingston Plaza, 232 Plaza Road.

Det­zel, the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s live­stock educator, will of­fer a look at the cur­rent state of live­stock pro­duc­tion in the Hud­son Valley in his key­note ad­dress, “Gaug­ing Our Fu­ture by Ex­am­in­ing Our Past: Live­stock Pro­duc­tion in the Hud­son Valley.” Det­zel will dis­cuss cur­rent trends in live­stock agri­cul­ture in the Hud­son Valley, in­clud­ing how con­sumers can un­der­stand fac­tors af­fect­ing lo­cal live­stock busi­nesses.

The elec­tion of new board of­fi­cers and mem­bers will also be held and light re­fresh­ments will be served.
