Cyberspace safety for youngsters focus of program
WHAT: Program, “Internet Awareness: Tools for Keeping Youth Safe in Cyberspace” WHEN: Dec. 1 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. WHERE: Quimby Theater on the campus of SUNY Ulster, 491 Cottekill Road, Stone Ridge DETAILS: This presentation will equip attendees with an understanding of the dangers of social networking and gaming sites, smart phone/tablet apps, disturbing trends such as sexting, web camera exploitation, cyberbullying and tactics online predators use to lure youngsters into dangerous and potentially life-threatening situations. Tools for engaging youngsters in conversations about cybersafety and maintaining consistent follow up will be explored.
