The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public workshop 7 p.m. Nov. 30 to discuss the status of the second five-year review for the Hudson River PCBs Superfund site.

The workshop — to be held at the Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road — will be the third of several workshops intended to involve the public during the fiveyear review process for the site.

The purpose of the five-year review is to evaluate whether the Hudson River cleanup is working as intended. The first five-year review for the Hudson River PCBs Superfund site was completed in 2012.

The Nov. 30 workshop will include an overview of the fiveyear review process and a summary of the topics that have been discussed to date during the ongoing monthly meetings of the Five-Year Review Team, which includes representatives from the state Department of Environmental Conservation, state Department of Health, state Canal Corp, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. National Park Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the site’s Community Advisory Group.
