Con­fer­ence will look at farm­ing, food sys­tems

A re­gional con­fer­ence on farm­ing and lo­cal food sys­tems, “Farm­ing Our Fu­ture,” is sched­uled for Feb. 25, 2017, at Ta­conic Hills Cen­tral School District, 73 County Route 11A,

The an­nual con­fer­ence is ex­pected to at­tract farm­ers, busi­nesses, com­mu­nity lead­ers and ci­ti­zens in­ter­ested in farm­ing.

The theme for the 2017 con­fer­ence will be “Healthy Food: Ac­cess for All?” Speak­ers and work­shops will cover top­ics re­lated to ac­cess­ing lo­cally pro­duced food, at­tract­ing and get­ting young­sters in­ter­ested in farm­ing as an oc­cu­pa­tion.
