Lights have been strung up at the Se­nate House State His­toric Site in Up­town Kingston in prepa­ra­tion for Friday’s Fes­ti­val of Lights, put on by the Se­nate House in co­op­er­a­tion with the Kingston Up­town Busi­ness As­so­ci­a­tion’s Snowflake Fes­ti­val. The Fes­ti­val of Lights, from 5 to 8 p.m., will fea­ture a “for­est” that Santa will lead vis­i­tors through, hot ap­ple cider, roasted chest­nuts, face paint­ing and horse-drawn wagon rides (for $2). The Snowflake Fes­ti­val, also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, will be held in Kingston’s Up­town busi­ness dis­trict and fea­ture a tree light­ing, ice sculpt­ing, choir and band per­for­mances, car­riage rides, a raf­fle and a visit from Santa.
