Man charged in armed robbery of pharmacy
KERHONKSON >> A monthslong investigation of the armed robbery of a drugstore has resulted in the arrest of a Kerhonkson man, state police said Tuesday.
Joshua K. Stuart, 40, was charged with felony robbery in connection with the heist the morning of Aug. 16 at the Catskill Pharmacy, 6401 U.S. Route 209, Kerhonkson, police said.
Trooper Steven Nevel said investigators went to Stuart’s mother’s home in Kerhonkson on Monday and Stuart answered the door. Stuart was charged at 6:30 p.m. at the state police barracks in Wawarsing after being brought there “to discuss the incident,” Nevel said. In the robbery, which happened about 9:25 a.m. Aug. 16, a man wearing a mask held a pharmacist at gunpoint and demanded prescription medications and money, police said.
Stuart was arraigned in Wawarsing Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
