WHAT: Screen­ing of “The Po­lar Ex­press” WEN: Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. WHERE: En­chanted Café, 7484 South Broad­way, Red Hook DE­TAILS: The Red Hook Pub­lic Li­brary and En­chanted Café will present a free screen­ing of “The Po­lar Ex­press.” The 2004 movie, based on Chris Van Alls­burg’s clas­sic pic­ture book, rep­re­sents the third pair­ing of ac­tor Tom Hanks and direc­tor Robert Ze­meckis, the duo re­spon­si­ble for both “For­rest Gump” and “Cast Away.” In this film, a doubt­ful boy comes to be­lieve in the eter­nal won­ders of life as he trav­els on an ex­tra­or­di­nary jour­ney to the North Pole.
