Last-second baskets lift Hawks to win
Andrew Seniuk’s jumper from the top of the key with two seconds remaining lifted SUNY New Paltz to its first men’s basketball win of the season, 64-63, over Springfield.
The (1-4) Hawks trailed 63-62 after Springfield’s Andy McNulty hit a 3-point field goal with 1:42 remaining. Both teams missed potential baskets before Seniuk hit the game-winner in the nonconference contest.
Seniuk led New Paltz with 19 points and five steals, while Nick Paquette (15 points), Matt English (12) and Dylan Balducci (11) also scored in double figures in the win over Hawks’ coach Mike Rejniak’s alma mater.
New Paltz begins State University of New York Athletic Conference play this weekend with games at Geneseo (Friday) and Brockport (Saturday).
