Last-sec­ond bas­kets lift Hawks to win

An­drew Se­niuk’s jumper from the top of the key with two sec­onds re­main­ing lifted SUNY New Paltz to its first men’s basketball win of the sea­son, 64-63, over Spring­field.

The (1-4) Hawks trailed 63-62 af­ter Spring­field’s Andy McNulty hit a 3-point field goal with 1:42 re­main­ing. Both teams missed po­ten­tial bas­kets be­fore Se­niuk hit the game-win­ner in the non­con­fer­ence con­test.

Se­niuk led New Paltz with 19 points and five steals, while Nick Pa­que­tte (15 points), Matt English (12) and Dy­lan Bal­ducci (11) also scored in dou­ble fig­ures in the win over Hawks’ coach Mike Re­j­niak’s alma mater.

New Paltz be­gins State Univer­sity of New York Ath­letic Con­fer­ence play this week­end with games at Ge­ne­seo (Friday) and Brock­port (Saturday).
