Free screening of ‘Frozen’ offered Dec. 10
Hyde Park Roosevelt Cinemas, I Heart Radio of Poughkeepsie, the Claudio Cares Foundation and Rhinebeck Bank are sponsoring a free Christmas movie for children and their families on Dec. 10.
The theater, on U.S. Route 9, will show “Frozen,” rated PG, an animated tale about two sisters, Anna and Elsa, and how they save their kingdom.
The doors will open at 9 a.m. and the film will start at 10 a.m.
Santa will be on hand, and parents are encouraged to bring cameras. Parents are welcome to attend the film with their children, or may drop them off and pick them up afterward.
Admission is free, but tickets must be obtained in advance from one of I Heart’s local stations (Q92.1, WRWD, Kiss FM), Coppola’s Restaurant in Hyde Park or the Hyde Park branch of Rhinebeck Bank.
Five-hundred tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for collection by the Claudio Cares Foundation for distribution to needy families in the area in conjunction with the fifth annual Claudio’s Can Drive, which will take place until Dec. 17. Food donations may be left either at the Roosevelt Cinemas or Coppola’s through Dec. 17.
