Ex­ten­sion classes will fo­cus on farm fund­ing

A class will be of­fered Thurs­day, Dec. 15 for farm own­ers in­ter­ested in seek­ing grants to sup­port their busi­nesses.

“Free Money?” will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cor­nell Co­op­er­a­tive Ex­ten­sion of Ul­ster County, 232 Plaza Road, at Kingston Plaza. The class will fo­cus on grant ter­mi­nol­ogy and rules, pre­dict­ing a project’s like­li­hood of re­ceiv­ing use­ful fund­ing, and in­for­ma­tion about ex­ist­ing pro­grams. In­struc­tor El­iz­a­beth Hig­gins is the agri­cul­ture business man­age­ment ex­ten­sion spe­cial­ist for the Eastern New York Com­mer­cial Hor­ti­cul­ture Pro­gram.

The class will be re­peated from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 15 at Cor­nell Co­op­er­a­tive Ex­ten­sion of Dutchess County, 2715 Route 44, Mill­brook.

The pro­gram is free for farms en­rolled in ENYCHP (Eastern New York Com­mer­cial Hor­ti­cul­ture Pro­gram) and $10 for oth­ers. Pre-regis­ter by Dec. 13 at http://enych.cce.cor­nell. edu/event.php?id=637
