Cru­saders im­prove to 8-0 with 101-74 vic­tory over Tigers

Un­de­feated Mon­roe-Wood­bury built a 62-point lead en route to a 101-74 vic­tory over Kingston.

KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Un­de­feated Mon­roe-Wood­bury swept three events, build­ing a 62-point lead en route to a 101-74 Or­ange County In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion boys swim meet.

Shane Tre­anor won two in­di­vid­ual events to lead the (8-0) Cru­saders, who built a 101-39 lead bef­pre swim­ming ex­hi­bi­tion in the last three events.

Tre­anor won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.81 and 100 but­ter­fly in 1:00.15, while other in­di­vid­ual Mon­roe wins came from An­thony Bruno (200 in­di­vid­ual med­ley), Shane Mills (50 freestyle), Wil­liam Cod­ding­ton (100 freestyle) and Ian Ack­er­man (500 freestyle).

Bruno and Ack­er­man teamed with Liam Allen and An­drew Choi to cap­ture 200 med­ley re­lay, while Cod­ding­ton, Mills, Allen and Matthew Ty­cott cap­tured the 200 freestyle re­lay.

Jor­dan Hul­bert placed first for the (3-7) Tigers in div­ing (186.65 points), while other in­di­vid­ual Kingston wins came from Cameron Fair­ley (1:05.75 in 100 back­stroke) and Do­minic Ver­tullo (1:14.37 in 100 breast­stroke).

Fair­ley also teamed with Matthew Baker, Ma­son Deli­sio and Scott Kleeschulte to win the 400 freestyle re­lay in 3:52.99.

Kingston plays host to Val­ley Cen­tral on Tues­day.
