Undefeated Monroe dominates Kingston
Crusaders improve to 8-0 with 101-74 victory over Tigers
Undefeated Monroe-Woodbury built a 62-point lead en route to a 101-74 victory over Kingston.
KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Undefeated Monroe-Woodbury swept three events, building a 62-point lead en route to a 101-74 Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association boys swim meet.
Shane Treanor won two individual events to lead the (8-0) Crusaders, who built a 101-39 lead befpre swimming exhibition in the last three events.
Treanor won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.81 and 100 butterfly in 1:00.15, while other individual Monroe wins came from Anthony Bruno (200 individual medley), Shane Mills (50 freestyle), William Coddington (100 freestyle) and Ian Ackerman (500 freestyle).
Bruno and Ackerman teamed with Liam Allen and Andrew Choi to capture 200 medley relay, while Coddington, Mills, Allen and Matthew Tycott captured the 200 freestyle relay.
Jordan Hulbert placed first for the (3-7) Tigers in diving (186.65 points), while other individual Kingston wins came from Cameron Fairley (1:05.75 in 100 backstroke) and Dominic Vertullo (1:14.37 in 100 breaststroke).
Fairley also teamed with Matthew Baker, Mason Delisio and Scott Kleeschulte to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:52.99.
Kingston plays host to Valley Central on Tuesday.
