Pine Bush tops Kingston, re­mains un­de­feated

The un­de­feated Pine Bush boys team used a dozen 3-point field goals to de­feat Kingston High, 107-69.

Un­de­feated Pine Bush con­nected for a dozen 3-point field goals Thurs­day as it rolled to a 107- 69 vic­tory over Kingston High in an Orange County In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion Divi­sion I boys bas­ket­ball game.

Mar­quis John­son, who made seven 3-point­ers, led the Bush­men with 31 points. Ma­son Mem­mel­lar scored 24, Bran­don Pow­ell had 20 and Brian Pow­ell added 19 to help guide (10-0) Pine Bush.

Tre’Shon Rashada had 20 points, Chris Lacey scored 14 and Chris Wright had 11 to lead Kingston, which is 6-3 on the year.

Pine Bush jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quar­ter and put the game away with a 3615 run in the third.

“We re­ally didn’t de­fend,” Kingston coach Ron Kelder re-

marked.

“They did ex­actly what we ex­pected. We didn’t re­spond and they took it to us,” he said. “It snow­balled. Now we have to see what we do about it, what we’re made of.”

The Tigers will play in the fi­nal game of a nonleague triple­header at Kate Wal­ton Field House on Satur­day. The fresh­man and ju­nior var­sity boys teams play Troy at 1:30 and 3 p.m., re­spec­tively. The var­sity takes on Beth­le­hem at 6 p.m.
