Great Amer­i­can Song­book sing-along on Sun­day

WHAT: The Great Amer­i­can Song­book Sing-Along 2017 WHEN: Sun­day, Jan. 15at 3p.m. Snow date is Jan. 22 at 3pm.

WHERE: Con­gre­ga­tion Emanuel, 243Al­bany Av­enue, Kingston

DE­TAILS: Can­tor Bob Co­hen wel­comes par­tic­i­pants to sing-along the songs of Leonard Co­hen, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Lowe, in­clud­ing: “Suzanne”, “Hal­lelu­jah”, “Bird on a Wire” and “Mariah”, “I Could Have Danced All Night”, “Get Me To The Sy­n­a­gogue On Time”, and many more. Lyric sheets will be pro­vided. $10for those who can af­ford it, or $5for those who can­not.

Spe­cial book sale at Eso­pus Li­brary through Jan­uary

WHAT: Spe­cial book sale WHEN: Through the month of Jan­uary WHERE: Town of Eso­pus Li­brary, 128Canal St., Port Ewen.

DE­TAILS: The Friends of the Town of Eso­pus Li­brary are cel­e­brat­ing Martin Luther King Jr. Day for the month of Jan­uary with a spe­cial book sale. A col­lec­tion of non-fic­tion books on black cul­ture, his­tory and lit­er­a­ture are for sale in the Li­brary’s lobby at a re­duced price of $1 each book. There are a few chil­dren’s books, too. The sale in on­go­ing dur­ing li­brary open hours. The Book Cel­lar is also open with many books for all ages.
