Watershed Alliance hosts talks at library
The Wallkill River Watershed Alliance Boat Brigade will present lectures in the Gardiner Library Community Room, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 22, Feb. 26 and March 19.
On Jan. 22, “Death by 10,000 Culverts!” will be presented by Andrew Meyer, a conservation specialist for the state Department of Environmental Conservation, who will talk about culverts, dams and their impact on wildlife. On Feb. 26, Laura Heady, conservation and land use coordinator for the Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University, will present “Why did the Salamander Cross the Road?” March 19, Andrew Willner, a leader of efforts to protect land and waterways in New York and New Jersey, will discuss “Building Strong Grassroots Organizations.”
