Equiv­a­lency di­ploma test course avail­able

SUNY Ul­ster is of­fer­ing a course to help pre­pare stu­dents for the Test As­sess­ing Sec­ondary Com­pe­tency (TASC) needed to earn the High School Equiv­a­lency (HSE) di­ploma.

De­signed for stu­dents who did not grad­u­ate from high school, but want a cer­tifi­cate equiv­a­lent to the tra­di­tional high school di­ploma, the pro­gram pro­vides in­struc­tion in lan­guage arts, writ­ing, read­ing, math, sci­ence and so­cial stud­ies.

The course also will fo­cus on pre­par­ing stu­dents for col­lege and as­sist those seek­ing en­roll­ment in a SUNY Ul­ster de­gree or cer­tifi­cate pro­gram. SUNY Ul­ster ac­cepts GED/TASC grad­u­ates who meet its ad­mis­sion qual­i­fi­ca­tions.

The class will meet Tues­days though Fri­days from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 13 through March 23 at the Kingston Cen­ter of SUNY Ul­ster, 94 Mary’s Ave. The fee is $20. For in­for­ma­tion or to reg­is­ter, call (845) 339-2025 or visit www.sun­yul­ster.edu/ce.
