Christopher E. Roser, 57, of West Shokan
Christopher E. Roser, 57, of West Shokan, died peacefully Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh.
A lifetime area resident, he was born Feb. 4, 1960, in Queens, the son of Edward Roser and the late Ellen Henriksen Roser.
He was a graduate of Onteora Central Schools, Class of ’78. Chris went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1983, and had been awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, and the Cuban Refugee Exercise Award. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1 of Albany. As a trained X-Ray technician, he focused on medical imaging throughout his career. Chris’ mind was always thinking of new ventures, and he has been described as an ambitious entrepreneur.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Burnelle Howard Roser; daughter, Adrianna Roser; sister, Ann Roser; niece, Jessica, and nephew, Giovanni.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, Nov. 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at E.B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main St., Phoenicia. Private burial will take place in the family plot at the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Route 28, Allaben.
