Rondout shuts out Ellenville; Red Hook rolls past Onteora

Rondout Valley and Red Hook scored Mid-Hudson Athletic League field hockey wins Friday. Rondout blanked Ellenville 3-0, while Red Hook’s big second half carried it to an 8-2 triumph over Onteora. Rondout 3, Ellenville 0

At Kyserike, Lea Smith scored off a pair of Sophia Schoonmake­r passes in the first half and Courtney Coffey added an unassisted goal in the second to lead undefeaed (4-0) Rondout Valley.

Jackie Lewis and Azure Jones collaborat­ed on the shutout, combining on two saves.

Megan Eckert kept the match tight for (2-2) Ellenville, stopping 11 shots. Rondout outshot the Lady Devils 20-3. Red Hook 8, Onteora 2

At Red Hook, the Raiders pulled away with five unanswered goals in the second half.

Bailey Jordan had three goals and an assist, Ally McCrudden had two goals and four assists, Danielle Walsh scored twice and Maddie Anderson had one goal to lead Red Hook.

“Ally McCrudden played a strong game as well as Sydney Ottman in the center of the field,” Raider coach Cari Meltzer said. “They distribute the ball and see the field very well.”

Hannah Mercier and Zoe Christense­n each played a half in goal for Red Hook, combining for three saves.

Alana Wood stopped 16 shots for Onteora. Sarah Jones and Corey Chun scored for the Eagles.
