FDR Library names new trustee
The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum announced former New York Giants team ophthalmologist, author and children’s museum co-founder Dr. Anne Sumers to its board of trustees.
Sumers is an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency at New York University. She practiced ophthalmology at a private practice in Ridgewood, N.J., for 25 years, and served as team ophthalmologist for the Giants for 20 years.
“We are proud and honored to welcome Dr. Sumers and look forward to working with her for many years,” Roosevelt Library Director Paul Sparrow said in a news release announcing the appointment.
From 1992-2014, Sumers was the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the New Jersey Children’s Museum in Paramus, New Jersey which attracts over 100,000 visitors a year. She is the author of “The Official M.D. Handbook.”
