Robert C. “Bob” Sherry, Sr., 67, of Coatesvill­e, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Kathleen M. (nee Dougherty) Sherry, sharing 44 years of marriage together.

Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William C. and Esther E. (nee Hirschfiel­d) Sherry.

Bob was a 1967 graduate of Langley High School. After graduation, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines, serving from 1968-1972, and he was a Vietnam Veteran. After coming to Chester County, Bob worked for Johnson Matthey and then Main Line Concrete. He most recently worked for Home Instead Senior Care as an inhome caregiver.

A hard worker, Bob was known for providing top notch service with a smile. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and striking out batters at Strikeouts for Katie and Bats for Matt. Bob was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and he enjoyed visiting his family in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Downingtow­n VFW. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed vacationin­g at “Camp Sherry” in the Allegheny Mountains. Bob loved his family and friends and took every opportunit­y to spend time with them. He was the best “Pop” to his grandchild­ren and had a special relationsh­ip with each one of them individual­ly. His beautiful heart, caring soul, and mischievou­s sense of humor will be missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dena M. (Sam) Caffro, Robert C. (Dana) Sherry, Jr., Melanie A. (Justin) Fox, and Keirsten E. Sherry. He is also survived by one brother, four sisters, eight grandchild­ren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 South 17th Avenue, Coatesvill­e, where family and friends can call from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. There will also be a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtow­n, with Military Honors at 7:45 p.m.

Interment will be private.
