Er­lyne T. Fresh­ley, for­merly of West Ch­ester

Er­lyne T. Fresh­ley, 89, of New Hol­land, died Satur­day, Septem­ber 10, 2016 at Gar­den Spot Vil­lage.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band of 69 years, Richard R. Fresh­ley. They met in 3rd grade; played Hansel and Gre­tel in a play that year, and were to­gether ever since.

Born in Le­banon, she was the daugh­ter of the late Al­bert Kern and Ma­bel (Loose) Lentz.

Prior to her mar­riage, she was a tele­phone op­er­a­tor but was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved mu­sic, pot­tery, crafts and cross stitch and be­ing at the beach. She also de­liv­ered Meals on Wheels in West Ch­ester for many years.

She was cur­rently a mem­ber of Trin­ity Lutheran Church, New Hol­land and was a for­mer mem­ber of Cal­vary Lutheran Church in West Ch­ester. She was a for­mer mem­ber of the West Ch­ester Golf and Coun­try Club.

Sur­viv­ing in ad­di­tion to her hus­band are three chil­dren: John R. Fresh­ley, Ch­ester Springs; Sh­eryl A. Hoover (Bruce), Mon­u­ment, CO; Robert A. Fresh­ley (Mar­jorie), East Fal­low­field, PA; four grand­chil­dren; two step-grand­chil­dren; eight great-grand­chil­dren; a sis­ter Ruth Bul­lock, Honey Brook and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

She was pre­ceded in death by a daugh­ter Susan Wy­ble and a brother Mervin Lentz.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held at Gar­den Spot Vil­lage Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Hol­land, PA 17557 on Sun­day, Septem­ber 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Chap­lain Ch­ester Yoder of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will be at a later date at In­diantown Gap Na­tional Ceme­tery. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the chapel on Sun­day from 1 - 2 p.m. Kindly omit flow­ers.
