Ethel ‘Babe’ Sharpe of Ex­ton, for­merly of Devon

Ethel “Babe” Sharpe, 92, passed away on Fri­day, Septem­ber 9, 2016, at her res­i­dence.

She was the beloved wife of the late Clif­ford Sharpe, with whom she shared 48 years of mar­riage prior to his pass­ing in 1994.

Born in Chicago, Illi­nois, she was the daugh­ter of the late Harold James and Ella Agnes Red­man Corn­wall.

Ethel, or Gram as she was re­ferred to by her ex­tended fam­ily en­joyed gar­den­ing, singing, play­ing the or­gan and do­ing var­i­ous arts and crafts in­clud­ing scrap book­ing. She also was an avid spec­ta­tor of fam­ily and pro­fes­sional sport­ing events and had a great love for all an­i­mals.

She is sur­vived by her five chil­dren, Lau­ren Sharpe of Ex­ton, Jef­fery Sharpe (Wendy) of Down­ing­town, Deb­o­rah Galante (Tony) of Glen­moore, Brian Sharpe of Char­lotte, NC and Dou­glas Sharpe (Sharon) of Glen­moore. She is also sur­vived by 14 grand­chil­dren and 12 great grand­chil­dren.

Ethel was pre­de­ceased by her sis­ter, Jean Peter­son.

There will be a gath­er­ing from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, with a time of shar­ing at 1:00 pm, Fri­day, Septem­ber 16, 2016 at Lud­wig’s Grill and Oys­ter Bar, 2904 Con­estoga Road, Glen­moore, Pa 19343.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to Brandy­wine Val­ley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Ch­ester, PA 19380.
