Miriam (nee Coyne) Ritti of Honey Brook
Miriam (nee Coyne), Ritti, 98, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2016 at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook.
Miriam was born July 8, 1918 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Coyne. She was the wife of Edward A. Ritti, Sr., with whom she shared 75 years of marriage. Miriam was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Philadelphia and an alumna of Trinity College in Washington, D.C. She was an assistant to the Personnel Manager of Kellett Autogyro Company and later worked for GE during World War II. Miriam was also active in the Mother’s Club at Malvern Preparatory School, where her sons attended high school. Always the supporter, mentor and champion of her family members, she plowed through life with an Irish wit and great optimism.
In addition to her husband, Miriam is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Jacoby of Kalona, Iowa, sons Edward Jr. (Louise) of West Chester, Eugene (Claire) of Boise, Idaho and Philip (Maryalice) of Grass Valley, Calif. and sister-in-law Sister Mary Jean Ritti RSM of Merion Station. Miriam is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at the Chapel of Tel Hai, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA on September 17 at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Miriam’s honor can be made to Tel Hai Care Assurance Fund, P.O. Box 190, Honey Brook, PA 193440190.
