Miriam (nee Coyne) Ritti of Honey Brook

Miriam (nee Coyne), Ritti, 98, passed away peace­fully on Septem­ber 7, 2016 at Tel Hai Re­tire­ment Com­mu­nity in Honey Brook.

Miriam was born July 8, 1918 in Philadel­phia, the daugh­ter of the late Michael and Mary Coyne. She was the wife of Ed­ward A. Ritti, Sr., with whom she shared 75 years of mar­riage. Miriam was a grad­u­ate of Notre Dame Academy in Philadel­phia and an alumna of Trin­ity Col­lege in Washington, D.C. She was an as­sis­tant to the Per­son­nel Man­ager of Kel­lett Au­t­o­gyro Com­pany and later worked for GE dur­ing World War II. Miriam was also ac­tive in the Mother’s Club at Malvern Prepara­tory School, where her sons at­tended high school. Al­ways the sup­porter, men­tor and cham­pion of her fam­ily mem­bers, she plowed through life with an Ir­ish wit and great op­ti­mism.

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band, Miriam is sur­vived by her daugh­ter Mary Ann Ja­coby of Kalona, Iowa, sons Ed­ward Jr. (Louise) of West Ch­ester, Eu­gene (Claire) of Boise, Idaho and Philip (Maryal­ice) of Grass Val­ley, Calif. and sis­ter-in-law Sis­ter Mary Jean Ritti RSM of Me­rion Sta­tion. Miriam is also sur­vived by 14 grand­chil­dren and 17 great­grand­chil­dren.

A cel­e­bra­tion of life will be held at the Chapel of Tel Hai, 1200 Tel Hai Cir­cle, Honey Brook, PA on Septem­ber 17 at 2 p.m. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate. In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions in Miriam’s honor can be made to Tel Hai Care As­sur­ance Fund, P.O. Box 190, Honey Brook, PA 193440190.
