James (Jim) Jr. Alexan­der Purring of Honey Brook

Jim Purring, 77, passed away peace­fully sur­rounded by his wife and fam­ily on Septem­ber 19, 2016 at Brandy­wine Hall.

He was the hus­band of El­iz­a­beth Baker Purring.

Born in Nar­berth, he is pre-de­ceased by his par­ents, Alexan­der James and Ethel Mae, his sis­ters Ethel Mae and Judy, and son Eric.

Jim had a great pas­sion for life and lived it to the fullest. His many in­ter­ests in­cluded gar­den­ing, pho­tog­ra­phy and vin­tage air­planes, the great­est be­ing the P-51 Mus­tangs which were flown by the Tuskegee Air­men in World War II.

Jim is sur­vived by his wife; chil­dren Michael (Betsy) John (Lisa) and Leila; grand­chil­dren Levi, Brent, Eric, Alyssa, Amy, Jesse, Lu­cas, Phillip and Ari­anna; great grand­chil­dren Bryce, Felix Jr. and Miles; many nieces and neph­ews; his god­son Alexan­der James III and count­less friends.

Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to at­tend a cel­e­bra­tion of Jim’s life on Sun­day, Septem­ber 25, at 12 noon at the home of Liz and Jim.

Memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made in Jim’s honor to the MS so­ci­ety.
