Cops: Po­lice in­ves­ti­gate lug nut theft

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a case of ve­hic­u­lar tam­per­ing af­ter a wheel fell off of a mini­van as it pulled away from a park­ing spot at Wal-mart, 650 Trooper Road, Sept. 9. The vic­tim told the re­spond­ing of­fi­cer she started to drive home around 3:45 p.m. when she heard a loud noise com­ing from the rear of the ve­hi­cle. She got out and found that all the lug nuts and the hub­cap of her rear pas­sen­gers side wheel had been re­moved, and the tire was wedged against the axle. Two bricks, pos­si­bly used to prop the ve­hi­cle up, were found in her park­ing space.

A man was charged with drug pos­ses­sion and re­sist­ing ar­rest af­ter a scuf­fle with po­lice out­side Tony G’s bar and restau­rant, 1991 W. Main St. Sept. 8. The sus­pect con­tin­ued to strug­gle, but was even­tu­ally placed into cus­tody. The plas­tic bags he dis­carded were found to con­tain mar­i­juana and metham­phetamine, re­spec­tively. Both of­fi­cers and the sus­pect were treated for mi­nor in­juries. and food was miss­ing from their re­frig­er­a­tor. The vic­tims sus­pect their es­tranged daugh­ter, and were un­de­cided as to whether to press charges.
