Assault and robbery reported
On Sept. 1 at 11:20 p.m. a resident came to police station to report an assault and robbery. She was accompanied by her daughter’s father who was bleeding from several head wounds and had a swollen jaw. The woman told police a “play fight” turned real at a residence in the 700 block of Maple Alley and her companion was attacked when he intervened. The male was reportedly hit in the head with a pipe and stomped, and his money and cellphone were stolen. The female victim also claimed to have property at a residence in the first block of Oak Street that the assailants refused to return to her. Police questioned a female resident who said the complainant was intoxicated and started the fight. She also said the couple was temporarily living at her residence because they were in between homes. The woman was reportedly uncooperative and refused to return any belongings. No suspect was located.
