Stu­dents earn Na­tional Merit hon­ors

MALVERN » Malvern Prepara­tory School is proud to present its 2017 Na­tional Merit Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram award win­ners. In this year’s com­pe­ti­tion, Malvern Prep has five Semi­fi­nal­ists and five Com­mended Stu­dents.

More than 1.6 mil­lion stu­dents took the 2015 PSAT, and of those, only 16,000 scored high enough to be des­ig­nated Semi­fi­nal­ists. These stu­dents may con­tinue in the Merit Schol­ar­ship com­pe­ti­tion and ad­vance to Fi­nal­ist stand­ing by meet­ing ad­di­tional re­quire­ments. Only 34,000 ad­di­tional stu­dents across the na­tion are rec­og­nized as Com­mended Stu­dents, those who scored in the top five per­cent in the na­tion on the PSAT.
