Pat Croce, a West Ch­ester Univer­sity alum­nus and former owner of the Philadel­phia 76ers, presided over the rib­bon cut­ting of the univer­sity’s new Cen­ter for Con­tem­pla­tive Stud­ies Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon. In a small cer­e­mony in front of a hand­ful of stu­dents and fac­ulty, Croce spoke to the crowd about mind­ful­ness and how it has pos­i­tively ben­e­fited his life. Pat Croce and his wife Diane have do­nated $250,000 to­ward the de­vel­op­ment and ex­pan­sion of West Ch­ester Univer­sity’s Cen­ter for Con­tem­pla­tive Stud­ies. West Ch­ester Mayor Carolyn Comitta, West Ch­ester Univer­sity In­terim Pres­i­dent Christo­pher Fiorentino, Col­lege of Health Sci­ences Dean Linda Adams, along with the cen­ter’s co-direc­tors Don McCown and Chris­tine Mori­coni, spoke at the event Wed­nes­day as well. Croce’s fam­ily also at­tended the event.
